Tonys WC-54
I've attached a file of photos taken of my WC54 Katy, at the Chatham Dockyard, a world heritage site. It was a filming of the BBC Television Antique's Roadshow. People bring objects to the show to be filmed and get expert advice and valuations. The Militaria expert Graham Lay knew Katy and her former owner.
I'd better explain, Katy was built 4th February 1944, supposedly landed on D-Day +9, which is feasible as the great storm struck around D +11. She was rebuilt in Germany in October 1952, then went to Norway. Back to England about 1995.
She was bought by a friend of mine in Jersey in the Channel Islands in 1997. Carol restored her and I met them in about 1998. We became friends and I bought a Dodge WC51 Weapons Carrier. Carol told me a few years ago she had left me Katy in her will! It did surprise me!
Carol died about 18 months ago, very suddenly, and Katy came to me. The BBC filming was her first show out in England.
The markings are the 390 BGH, 8th USAAF. Carol was friends with the team who run the B17 Sally B, hence the markings. I've altered them slightly to take off the stars and added the blackout lines around the wheel arches that all vehicles in England had to have.

Best wishes

Tony
